Well whether you knew it or not, the most popular and most widely sold Pinball Machine of all time is 'Addams Family'. This comes as no surprise to pinball enthusiasts, but it may surprise someone out there. The pinball machine is based off the 1991 movie 'Addams Family', which led to the March of 1992 release of this machine. It is produced by Bally Midway, and in total there were 20,270 units sold.

The pinball game itself features all kinds of cool things from the movie, such as real character voices from the actors of the film. There is no real single player goal based story gameplay, but there are things in the game that are objectives. One of the objectives is the 'Vault', which represents the Family Vault from the movie. The Vault in the pinball game is located in the top right corner of the playfield, and can be opened in a certain way. Its very hard to get you ball in the 'Vault' once opened, buts its cool feat if you can.

Its hard to put your finger on why it was so popular, but it was just a combination of many factors. Around that time, pinball machines sort of saw a slight resurgence in popularity due to some innovations. Some of the improvements were based of the increased video and audio functions of pinball games. The 'Addams Family' pinball was very fun and featured really cool things in the gameplay. It featured 'Things' hand, which would grab the pinball under certain circumstances, and there was a electromagnet in theplayfield that cause the ball to do strange and random things. It was just a perfect storm of a very popular and fun movie, and some great technologies that allowed for cool and fun gameplay.

The game itself is really fun and there a lot out there, but they do sometimes come at a decent price, depending on the quality of the machine. Super rare Atari game sell for over 5k

Recently news broke about a rare Atari game selling for over 5k, actually $5,250 to be exact. So what game made in the 80's could be worth over 5k? Well it was a game that was only sold in religious stores, and that game is called 'The Music Machine'.

The Atari 2600 game was merely bought as a collectors item, and not so much for amazing gameplay. This actual game was still sealed and packaged, which brought the value up, since it was basically brand new. This is a really cool story in the classic gaming world, and thanks to Yahoo Pluggedin for the story.

This wasn't that bad of a deal considering it was far from the most expensive cartridge game ever purchased in auction. Earlier this year a gold copy of Nintendo World Championships sold for a whopping $17,500.

Galaga / Ms Pac-Man Combo Arcade Machine (Namco)

The class of 1981 was a very accomplished one, and the class reunion is good for all of us. That class of '81 that we are talking about features some of the best arcade games of all time in 'Galaga' and 'Ms Pac-Man'. These are 2 games that everyone should own for their collection, and its even better when you can get them on the same cabinet.

Thats where this Namco 'Class of 1981' Anniversary Edition machine comes into play. This special edition game features not only 'Galaga' and 'Ms Pac-Man', but it also allows the user to play the original 'Pac Man' as well. The cabinet itself is extremely cool and features the artwork from each games respective cabinets, but split down the middle, with 'Ms Pac-Man' artwork on the Left and 'Galaga' artwork on the right.

The machine works with the operator crediting the machine, and then having the option of selecting which of the 3 games they want to play. The machine saves all high scores for each of the three games, and there are lots of options to customize for each of the games, in relation to starting lives and difficulty.

This 'Class of '81' Anniversary model has since be discontinued from production, and its a rare and amazing game which can be purchased in online auctions. Some of the machine have 'Pac Man' as a hidden bonus game, and its has to be unlocked with a pattern of joystick movements.

Such a great classic Arcade Machine for any collection.

Roomba Pac-Man

The classic arcade game Pac-man has been seen in all forms of culture, but I think this is a first for the robot vacuum world. This is a really cool video/experiment where some students at Colorado University mapped out a Pac-man type level with red tape on the floor, and guided some Roomba vacuums around this map with computers to simulate a stage of Pac-man.

This is so cool, and its fun to see a classic like Pac-man applied to some modern science, like aerial guidance system they are working on over there at CU. Pac-man is greater than all.

Here is another one that the classic arcade game loses miserably. Its still enjoyable though, but at the same time kind of sad haha. I just want there to be a video where the classic game owns a newer one, even things up a little bit.

Weeee I don't think there are many things as cute, yet cool, as this little T2 arcade machine. I doubt anyone has seen anything like this before, a action figure playing a Terminator shooting game. Sick detail on the cabinet, GI Joe is getting his game on.

Vintage Gottlieb Pinball Machines

Gottlieb has always been the innovator of the pinball industry, and they have released some of the best and most classic machines out there. Gottlieb, based out of Chicago, started making bar style games back in 1927 and have produced machines during the 3 generations of pinball. They first created fully mechanical machines, then in the 1930's they produced electro mechanical machine, and finally in the 70's the solid states.

More particularly we are talking about the early solid state pinball machines that are vintage gems. You can buy one for a fairly reasonable price in online auctions. If you have a pinball collection or are looking to start one, then a vintage Gottlieb machine is pretty much a must have. Its pretty much like adding a beautiful 1970's muscle car to your car collection.

Some of the older machines are ones like Buck Rodgers, 2001, Count Down, Genie, Spin Out, Incredible Hulk, Torch, and Roller Disco. These are just amazing Machines and you can buy one in auction from reputable dealers.

Tales From The Crypt pinball

In my opinion this is one of the coolest modern pinball machines out there, but I guess it has something to do with me being a big 'Tales from the Crypt' fan. But besides that it is still a great machine with a fun playfield and awesome sounds. The machine is made by Data East Pinball and was released in 1993, and it got great reviews on IPDB.

For everyone that might not know 'Tales from the Crypt' began as a horror comic created by William Gaines, released under EC comics in the 1950's. 'Tales from the Crypt' later became famous as a TV show on HBO, which ran from 1989-1996. This pinball machine is modeled after that TV shows and the scenes, images, and sounds that were featured in it.

This is such a cool machine and you can look up a bunch more info and pictures of it on IPDB. This game is "frightfully Fun" so check out a little gameplay video, which you can hear all the sounds from the game. You can also find a machine for a reasonable price in online auction below.
