There is something to be said about the marriage of Pinball and Science-fiction, they just go together oh so well. Being an avid pinball lover, and lover of science-fiction, its quite fun to play a cool science-fiction pinball machine. Check out this really cool story by Popular Mechanics, about the 11 things you didn’t know about pinball. A lot of it is going to surprise you, especially all the crazy stuff about the time when it was illegal. Wait pinball was illegal? Yes it was, and believe it or not, still to this day one New Jersey beach town doesn’t allow pinball play on Sundays. Anyway there are lots of other things about pinball that you would never believe, check it out here.

A documentary that follows the group that appeared on the cover of a 1980 LIFE magazine, on the best arcade players in the country.  The film is from 2007, and features interviews with the gamers from the cover, and the stories that were bigger than the games.  Starring some of the big names like Todd Rodgers, Steve Sanders, Kent Ferries, Billy Mitchell, and Ben Gold.  A few years old, but still pretty cool stuff, check it out if you haven’t seen it.
